1/1. January 1st. the first day, the beginning, the start. to think that a long time ago, people actually started on 1/1/1. did they wonder how would life be a long time away? did they think about how things are two thousand years later? and on 1/1/2013, how much have we achieved, how much has been done, and how much are we lacking? has humanity really progressed? why, after all these long years, could we not be better? Are we content with this peace, this safety, when people have died from shootings? Are we content with this equality, when people are suffering from discrimination of all kinds? Are we content with humanity itself, as trusting strangers grew to be harder and harder still, with suspicion creeping behind? I say its time we stop wasting time. Its time we become the kind of people that have gone through more than two thousand years, and stop undermining our own humanity. I say this year we work towards a better humanity. I say more unity, more love, more faith :)
